About me

I am a fully qualified and experienced Counselling Psychologist, Integrative Psychotherapist, and EMDR practitioner.

I work with a wide range of psychological and emotional issues, including complex and single event trauma, anxiety and depression, loneliness and low self-esteem, bereavement, relationship difficulties, self-harm and suicidal thoughts, as well as many others.

I provide a  confidential and non-judgemental space to explore whatever it is that is troubling you, in a way and at a pace that you feel comfortable with.

Therapy is a collaborative process which aims to increase awareness and understanding of your thoughts, emotions and behaviours, and to identify and tackle obstacles that are stopping you from living the life you want to live. Therapy can help to develop and harness the necessary resources in order to make desired changes in your life. It can be both insightful and empowering.

The process and focus of therapy is different for everyone, as we are all unique. As an Integrative Psychotherapist I draw on a number of different therapeutic approaches, which enables me to work flexibly, using my knowledge and skills to focus on your individual needs and goals.

Next steps....

It is important that you feel comfortable with your therapist and for us both to feel that we can work together. The best way to know this is for us to meet. In our initial session we can discuss the difficulties you are facing, what your hopes and expectations are, and how therapy could help. At the end of the session we can decide together how we proceed.

I offer a free 15 minute phone call where we can briefly discuss your situation, answer any questions you may have and arrange an initial session, Please get in touch by email or give me a call and we can go from there.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited register membership

UK Council for Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
