About me

Hi, my name is Richard. If you're reading this then you are thinking about reaching out for help. Congratulations, you've taken the first and biggest step towards a happier, healthier you.

I can help you find a way forward, give you the tools to deal with your problems and help you to be the person you want to be. I offer support with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, anger management, addiction, low self esteem, and relationship problems. You might just feel like you're not ok and want to talk to someone about it.

Whatever is troubling you, I can offer a relaxed, safe and confidential space to help you overcome your obstacles and challenges. I believe life is too short to be unhappy, unsure or unfulfilled, and that everyone deserves to live free from shame, judgement and guilt.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered member of the National Counselling Society and sit on a professional register accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and Level 5 Diploma in Life Coaching.

In addition to this I have over 12 years experience in the health and social care sector, working with the NHS, local authority Adult Services, Public Health, charities and private care providers on the management and delivery of a wide variety of care, support and mental health services.

I also regularly undertake continuing professional development and professional supervision to ensure my practice as a therapist is safe and ethical in accordance with the requirements of my professional registration.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
