Body & Mind Therapy Centre
Our team of professional counsellors are here to help young people and adults improve their mental health. We are passionate about helping people and believe that by talking in a safe and confidential space people can explore their issues and work towards finding solutions to their problems. We help people resolve issues such as depression, isolation, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, stress, low self-esteem, and anxiety, using approaches that encourage people to resolve their issues and equip them with the ability to face the future with confidence.
As we all experience mental health issues differently, we will work with you to help you find the answers and solutions to resolve your issues.
Training, qualifications & experience
Our Counselling staff are here to help you:
Rich Stradling: I am a qualified counsellor registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and a trained Solution Focused Therapist accredited with the Association of Psychological Therapies. I am passionate about helping people and believe that by talking in a safe and confidential space people can explore their issues and work towards finding solutions to their problems. In my work, I help people resolve issues such as depression, isolation, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, stress, low self-esteem and anxiety, using approaches that encourage people to resolve their issues and equip them with the ability to face the future with confidence. As we all experience mental health issues differently, I will work with you to help you find the answers and solutions to resolve your issues.
Daisy Dixon: I have over 19 years’ experience working with people. I'm a qualified psychotherapist and registered member of the BACP. I am passionate about not only helping clients to overcome presenting issues and difficulties, but I will work with you, at your own pace, using a blended therapy approach to suit your individual needs. I work with people, on the here and now, addressing - anxiety, stress and depression that is making life feel overwhelming and exhausting, supporting general well-being and bringing moments of mindfulness into everyday life. Whilst, at the same time, working on deep-rooted mental health issues that are contributing to unhelpful repetitive negative thoughts, low levels of self-esteem, sleep issues and more. For me, each client is an individual and it's about getting the right balance for you - seeing what works and what doesn't work, promoting change together.
Dawn Barton: I qualified as a Counsellor in 2004 and became a Registered Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2013. I have been counselling adults and children, predominantly in an Occupational Health Unit, a bereavement charity and here at Body and Mind. I have worked with a vast range of issues and have gained a wealth of experience, skills and qualifications. We are all individuals and require different needs; therefore I offer bespoke sessions to meet individual client needs from a range of models of therapy I use. I will work with you confidentially to listen and explore your concerns, in order for you to find your own solutions or achieve your goal.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
