About me
Overview
I offer Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to individuals looking for help with:
- Balancing emotions and improving coping skills
- Navigating bonds leading to healthy relationships
- Exploring self and expressing your true wonderful self.
I am a compassionate, highly skilled and creative psychotherapist with vast life experience from a multicultural background. I approach all my clients with an open mind and 3 core values:
- Freedom - to unapologetically be one's true self for it is unique and most precious
- Curiosity - to explore what is inside and outside of the comfort zone.
- Courage - to feel and to express difficult, complicated and conflicting feelings and face life's challenges.
What can I help you with?
Handling difficult emotions and developing coping strategies:
anger, anxiety, avoidance, fear, depression, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, hopelessness, feeling disconnected from self, feeling numb, lack of joy, isolation and withdrawing.
Self-exploration and expression:
identity crisis, finding out who you are, what makes you tick, who and what sparks a light in you, self-esteem and self-value
Issues in your relationships:
endings, loss, heartbreak, intimacy, vulnerability, sex, different roles, rejection, interpersonal communication, boundaries, needs, desires, and conflicts.
How I can help you.
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy: Here exploring the why's in your life and how you find meaning or make sense of it. By exploring the past we look how it informs the present through unconscious processes and behaviours stemming from childhood experiences, expectations and attachment styles. See life from a whole new angle and develop greater self-awareness and gain deeper insight.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT): In DBT you'll learn skills to manage unhelpful, harmful and/or suicidal behaviours coming from emotional dysregulation. You'll learn about practical skills to deal with life's challenges in the present. These include crisis survival skills and reality acceptance skills to enhance resilience, interpersonal skills for healthier relationships and apply effective mindfulness skills to improve self-awareness and to see life as it presents itself right now.
Unique Psychodynamic and DBT Blend: These more intense 90 min interventions look at both past and present. How to deal with the new insight obtained and everyday life in a skillful way where both our emotional and conflicting or opposing rational drives can co-exist without making things worse for yourself but by achieving positive outcomes. With weekly homework or tasks, you'll establish healthier or less harmful coping habits in no time.
I have extensive experience in:
- Working with clients online on bereavement, life changes, break-ups, loss of self, emotional dysregulation, sexuality and gender identity.
- As well as face-to-face from my clinical work at the Priory (private psychiatric hospital) with both inpatients and outpatients dealing with suicidal thoughts and behaviours from depression, issues related to living with autism, ADHD, and other neurodivergence and low self-esteem.
- Before becoming a psychotherapist, I trained as a medical microbiologist specialised in Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and HIV and worked for many years with different communities (LGBTQ+ and ethnic minorities) in New York, Manchester and London.
What drove me to become a psychotherapist?
My biggest drive to become a psychotherapist was both my desire to help others get through life's struggles and my own need to find myself. Having personally experienced and provided psychotherapy, I know what a difference this can make. I feel humbled and privileged being able to provide this to you.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
