About me

I offer Face to Face & Online Sessions.

Your Enquiry

Upon receiving your enquiry we arrange a mutually suitable time for an Initial Consultation (50 minutes) either in person or online.

In this session:

  • We discuss your needs
  • Discuss how many sessions you may need
  • Find out more about how I work
  • You decide if I am the right therapist for you.

There is no Commitment at this stage. If you wish to proceed I send you a Client Agreement, Contact Form, Data Protection Information Sheet and Consent form.

Well-Being is the Integration of What We Do, Think and Feel

I work with individuals who are experiencing relational difficulties, unresolved trauma; anxiety and childhood sexual, emotional and psychological abuse. As an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, my work is informed by various theoretical models which include: Interpersonal Neurobiology, CBT, Gestalt, Existential, Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. I have experience working with trauma, ADHD, attachment difficulties, bullying, bereavement, life transitions, depression, and panic disorders.

Forming a collaborative, therapeutic relationship enables us to create a safe, trusting and open way of working together. Studies have shown that the relationship between therapist and client, more than any other factor, determines the effectiveness of therapy in enabling you to bring about the change you want to achieve.

My approach also involves gaining an understanding of four dimensions of your life, which include:1) a sense of self; 2) relationships & family dynamics; 3)physical well-being; 4) the living and working environment. These four dimensions help to inform how you understand and live your life.

I can work with you to:

• manage difficult periods in your life including anxiety, depression and panic attacks
• develop greater insight, confidence and resilience
• make sense and resolve past traumatic experiences
• overcome fears and insecurities
• work towards solutions that are right for you

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Counselling is not a quick fix. The process involves time to establish a therapeutic relationship in order to explore your concerns in depth.
