( Well-being is the integration of what we do, think and feel.
As an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, my work is informed by various psychotherapeutic theories which include: Interpersonal Neurobiology, CBT, Gestalt, Existential, Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. I have experience working with trauma, ADHD, attachment difficulties, bullying, bereavement, life transitions, depression, anxiety and panic disorders.
Forming a collaborative, therapeutic relationship enables us to create a safe, trusting and open way of working together. Studies have shown that the relationship between therapist and client, more than any other factor, determines the effectiveness of therapy in enabling you to bring about the change you want to achieve.
My approach also involves gaining an understanding of four dimensions of your life, which include:1) a sense of self; 2) relationships & family dynamics; 3)physical well-being; 4) the living and working environment. These four dimensions help to inform how you understand and live your life.
I can work with you to:
• manage difficult periods in your life
• develop greater insight, confidence and resilience
• make sense of past traumatic experiences
• overcome fears and insecurities
• work towards solutions that are right for you
At the Initial Consultation, you will have the chance to discuss your concerns and what you are looking for. It also gives you the opportunity to ask questions and decide if I am the right person for you.
I also offer a Low Cost Counselling Service for those who are underemployed, unemployed, students, and those on a low income. Thursdays and Fridays 10am to 2pm (£30). Please see website for more information. www.synergycoachingandcounselling.com
