About me

Your Enquiry

Upon receiving your enquiry we arrange a mutually suitable time for an Initial Consultation.

In this session:

  • We discuss your needs
  • Discuss how many sessions you may need
  • Find out more about how I work
  • You decide if I am the right therapist for you.

There is no Commitment at this stage. If you wish to proceed I send you a Client Agreement, Contact Form, Data Protection Information Sheet and Consent form.

Well-Being is the Integration of What We Do, Think and Feel

I work with individuals who have a difficult relationship with food; experiencing unresolved trauma; anxiety and childhood sexual, emotional and psychological abuse. As an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, my work is informed by various theoretical models which include: Interpersonal Neurobiology, CBT, Gestalt, Existential, Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. I have experience working with trauma, ADHD, attachment difficulties, bullying, bereavement, life transitions, depression, and panic disorders.

Forming a collaborative, therapeutic relationship enables us to create a safe, trusting and open way of working together. Studies have shown that the relationship between therapist and client, more than any other factor, determines the effectiveness of therapy in enabling you to bring about the change you want to achieve.

My approach also involves gaining an understanding of four dimensions of your life, which include:1) a sense of self; 2) relationships & family dynamics; 3)physical well-being; 4) the living and working environment. These four dimensions help to inform how you understand and live your life.

I can work with you to:

• manage difficult periods in your life including anxiety, depression and panic attacks
• develop greater insight, confidence and resilience
• make sense and resolve past traumatic experiences
• overcome fears and insecurities
• work towards solutions that are right for you

As a qualified Life & Career Coach, I incorporate coaching into my work with the primary aim to help bring about concrete changes in the client's life.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

I am an Associate Member of the Association for Coaching, a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, a member of PODS (Positive Outcomes for Dissociative Survivors - recovering from trauma and abuse), an Associate Member of the Association of Integrative Coach-Therapist Professionals.

I also have an interest in working with pre- and post retirement individuals who are finding their life transitions difficult to manage.

Counselling is not a quick fix. The process involves time to establish a therapeutic relationship in order to explore your concerns in depth.

Coaching focuses upon a working alliance working on your specific goals.
