Dr Rhian J. Lewis, Lead Psychologist at The Clearing
Your first session at The Clearing is half price & is an opportunity to meet with your therapist to discuss the issues that you are facing.
I am an experienced, fully qualified Counselling Psychologist, chartered with the British Psychological Society & registered with the Health and Care Professions Council & am the lead psychologist at The Clearing, Jesmond.
Making the first step to arrange a counselling session can be really daunting & I understand that the idea of coming to talk to a stranger about how you've been feeling is nerve-wracking to say the least. In even considering it, you have shown a huge amount of courage.
There is nothing that I can say in this passage that will make those nerves go away. They are completely normal. What I want to assure you of though, is that if you do decide to come to see either me, or another member of my team at The Clearing, you will always be met with warmth, care & understanding. Our approach is gentle, you will not have to talk about anything you're not ready to talk about & we are on your side. Our only goal is to support you to achieve yours, in your own way & in your own time.
I understand how difficult it can be to choose the right therapy service for you & given how busy life is, you may not have the time to read through everybody's website. So here are the top 7 things that I think you may want to know about The Clearing to help you to decide if we're the right fit for you.
1. All of our therapists are fully qualified & experienced
2. Your first session with us is half price & introductory offers are available for students, trainee therapists & over 65s
3. We offer evening & Saturday appointments to fit around your schedule
Our last appointment of the day is usually at around 8pm
4. With our handy online booking system you can arrange your first session straight away.
5. We're really easy to get to
We're based in the quiet, leafy suburb of Jesmond. If you're coming to us by car, we have lots of free on street parking. If you're coming to us by public transport, we are a few minutes walk from the nearest bus stop & metro station
6. Our service is very discreet
There are no signs outside & we don't have a waiting area, so you don't need to worry about anyone knowing why you're at our door, or bumping into people once you're in the building. The only person you'll see is your therapist
7. Our building is wheelchair accessible
At The Clearing we provide a safe, cost-effective & confidential space in which you can explore whatever is troubling you.
Open six days a week, we take a fresh approach to every aspect of counselling...
