Rhian Kivits, PGCE, MNCS (Accred), Relate qualified Sex & Relationship Therapy
I’m a Relate qualified, accredited Counsellor and PGCE qualified Trainer. I take an integrative approach and my philosophy is all about promoting empowering ways to work through difficulties and reach for everything you want from life – and more. I work confidentially in person, by phone or online with couples, individuals and groups.
What I can help with
I offer General Counselling & Sex & Relationship Therapy for couples or individuals.
I can help with any issue that is having an impact on your life. I have helped hundreds of individuals and couples find clarity and a way forward. Please have a look at my website if you'd like to find out more about Sex & Relationship Therapy.
I am trained in a variety of approaches including psychodynamic, systemic, person centred, solution focused and cognitive behavioural (CBT). I’m also trained in Mindfulness and often bring in psychoeducation, positive thinking and motivational approaches if you need support with positive change. When we first meet, we will have a full discussion about your issues and I’ll explain how we will approach your counselling.
I work with clients of all genders and sexual orientations. I’m open minded and LGBTQ+ friendly. I fully support Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversities.
How your counselling will be structured
Sessions will usually be for 50 minutes on a weekly basis. After a focused period of counselling, you may wish to attend monthly or occasionally for ongoing support. I’m able to work flexibly to make sure you are supported according to your personal needs.
You may only need a few sessions or you may want to attend longer term therapy – we will review your progress together to make sure you’re getting the most out of your counselling.
How I support you
I am a sensitive and compassionate person. I understand how hard it can be for you to talk about your problems. I am honest but I will not judge or disapprove. I offer a safe, supportive environment to help you feel at ease. This means progressing at your pace and acknowledging your needs as we work together to help you make sense of what is happening in your life and consider how you can move forward.
