About me
I am a qualified counsellor with over 13 years of experience in working with adults, children and young people. In June 2024, I completed couples counselling training. I have recently started my own private practice in Lampeter in Cardiganshire.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified counsellor with a BSc (Hons) in Counselling which I achieved at the University of Glamorgan. I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and have a clear DBS check. Sometimes in life, we encounter struggles that are difficult to work through and we need that little bit of support to make sense of our feelings. Counselling with a caring, friendly, non-judgemental, supportive therapist can be an effective way of making sense of these confusing feelings.
I am originally from Cardiganshire, am a Welsh Speaker and was a Registered nurse for people with Learning Disabilities for over 20 years before qualifying as a counsellor in 2012. I trained after receiving personal therapy following an illness and it helped me to come to terms with this. I appreciate how hard it is to make that first step to contact a therapist.
I am an integrative therapist with a humanistic approach, I have an interest in working systemically. I draw on different counselling approaches depending on the problem area brought to counselling. I have experience in working with anxiety, bereavement, loss, low self-esteem, trauma, anger, illness, stress, depression, relationship problems and many other issues. I am interested in mindfulness and relaxation techniques and also work creatively, I find that these can be effective strategies to use in therapy should you feel comfortable and open to these techniques. I have experience of working with Adults, children and young people, Face to Face and online.
I am also a Qualified Counselling Supervisor with two years of experience in both individual and group supervision.
I have completed Couples Counselling training with Therapy Works.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
