About me

Do you feel stuck in life and unable to identify why? Maybe you have experienced a traumatic event and no matter how hard you try or how many years have passed, you can't seem to get over it. Perhaps your relationships, work and ability to enjoy life are being affected as a result. Have you got to the point where you would like things to change but you're not sure where to start? Perhaps you can't name specific issues or what your needs are, you just know that you can't keep battling on with life in the way you have been and it's time to make a change.

I am a warm, friendly, Integrative Counsellor with a heart to come alongside those who are struggling. I believe in offering a safe, non judgemental space for you to be heard and feel able to explore the issues you are facing. My approach focuses on you, the person and going at your pace, as well as looking at the past and how that may be affecting you in the present.

Thinking about counselling can be daunting and actually taking the step to pick up the phone or send an email can cause you to be filled with dread and anticipation. However, counselling can also make the difference between struggling in silence and isolation and being able to address the issues that are preventing you from living with purpose and meaning. I would love to talk to you today.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

Traditionally counselling has been offered mainly as a face to face service. However due to necessity in this last while, the rise of telephone and online counselling has meant that despite busy schedules and lockdowns counselling can still take place.

You can decide on your preference of either telephone or online counselling.  Online counselling happens via Zoom meeting on a private account which I will lock once we are signed in and the session has started, to ensure complete confidentiality is maintained.

Currently I am only offering telephone or online counselling.

The method of our sessions is dependant on what you feel most comfortable with and what works with your schedule.

Please note that I am not currently taking on any new clients until after September. If you would like to be added to a waiting list then please contact me to discuss how this will work.
