About me

I am a Person Centred, MBACP registered counsellor offering both short and long-term sessions depending on individual needs. I am currently working with adults (18yrs +) offering online appointments.

At the heart of my approach is creating and sustaining genuine warmth, empathy and authenticity within the counselling relationship. During our counselling sessions we will work together at your pace in a safe and confidential space for you to explore your unique self, your journey and self-discovery without judgement. I aim to support you to trust your own ability and prospects for self-change through conviction and autonomy.

I work with adults and young people who are experiencing a wide range of issues. I am committed to helping my clients move towards their desired goals and believe passionately that the therapeutic relationship can help you to live a more fulfilled life.

Finding and choosing the right counsellor is not only brave but can also be difficult (particularly when you may be going through struggles), and it is so important to find the right counsellor for you and your needs. To support this, I offer a free initial 20 min phone call providing an opportunity to ask questions and enabling you to get a sense of how we may work together. It's generally a space to talk about your needs briefly and the best ways of working for you. We can then arrange an initial meeting if you’d like to go ahead. Our work can be open ended or for an agreed time period.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
