About me

I am a person centred trained counsellor which means my practice is underpinned by the belief that we all have the potential to grow and fulfil our wants and needs. I believe that support should be offered with warmth, unconditional positive regard and should be non-judgemental. The techniques I use to support people are integrative and these skills have been learnt over time with training and experience and are adapted to suit the needs of the person.

Training, qualifications & experience

My qualifications include:

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People
  • Multidisciplinary Supervision
  • Bachelor of Science with Honours in Counselling
  • FdSc Counselling
  • Accredited member of BACP

I work for Off the Record which is a children and young persons counselling service as an Outreach Counsellor. My clients are based in South Gloucestershire and are aged between 11-25 years. I am also a Supervisor which means that i support fellow counsellors with their client work.

I also work with both adolescents and mature students at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM).  Within this role, I provide short term therapy of 6 weeks in a location that is accessible to them.

Further information

What happens if i have questions about counselling

If you feel you have any questions about the counselling i provide, you can contact me via telephone or email where i would be happy to answer your questions.

If you feel ready to start counselling

If you feel like you would like to 'get started' with counselling then please telephone or email me so we can set up an initial first session. I currently have slots available on Friday afternoons. The sessions last for 50 minutes.

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to become familiar with the setting and the room.  I may ask you why you feel you want counselling at this particular time and together we can establish how I may be able to support you with this.  This may be particularly useful if you are coming with a specific difficulty.  You may feel unsure about what is happening and that is okay too.  You may want my support to help you work this out or to work through this.
