About me

Hi my name is Rebecca and I am a counsellor at Serenity Therapies. I am a qualified Cognitive behavioural Counsellor and I offer a confidential and professional counselling service.

There are times when you can feel lost, frustrated, confused or stressed in your life and feel that no one is truly listening to you. It could be you are having relationship or marriage difficulties or have lost a person you loved and are struggling to cope.

If so, I can help you identify where you want to be, what needs to change and how best to get there. Counselling can empower and enable you to find your potential and to overcome whatever obstacles are holding you back or making you feel stuck.

I ensure I provide a safe and non-judgmental surrounding to enable us to talk together and discuss any areas in your personal life that you may be finding difficult or stressful. Working collaboratively, we can explore these issues together and find strategies for you to cope better and move forward with your life.

Having faced some difficult periods myself I understand how challenging life can be. Receiving counselling has helped me to deal with these challenges. So positive was this experience it inspired me to become a counsellor myself and has made me more confident and positive about my life.

People have amazing strengths. They can come through and deal with the most difficult of situations. Together we can find your strengths. Therapy does not always have to be serious; we can have lighter moments on the way.

I have worked with individuals who have moved forward in their life on issues such as bereavement, trauma, suicide, anxiety, stress, depression, abuse, domestic violence, relationship problems, low self-esteem and confidence, alcohol and substance misuse, relationship problems and many others.

I run a bereavement charity group in Liverpool and have qualifications in Mental Health First Aid and Peer support mentoring.

I currently practice privately in Widnes, Liverpool and St Helens. I have a vast amount of experience working in the emergency services for 34 years. This has given me an in-depth valuable knowledge and understanding that enhances the level of support I offer. I offer face to face; telephone or online counselling services.

I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapist (BACP) being a member guarantees I have the recognised qualifications required and that I work proficiently and professionally within their ethical framework which ensures you are protected and receive a safe quality service. I also hold personal indemnity insurance and an enhanced DBS check.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
