I am a qualified Counsellor with a wide range of experience. I provide one to one counselling based Nottingham city centre and Sherwood. I am an open minded and down to earth person who deeply values the positive implications and impact that therapy can have on a person's life. I believe strongly in the potential for growth and learning from being in therapy, as I myself have first hand experience in benefiting from being a client.
What can counselling offer you:
Being a client in the therapy process can give you an opportunity to explore areas that are troubling for you. A client who needs help with anger, who feels low and has been feeling like it for a while, stressed at work, wishes they could stop being so anxious, feels guilty about a termination, has grief to process, relationship issues, suffering from an accident, gambling issues, or cannot decide whether to go through with a wedding. In the counselling sessions, I offer a safe and confidential therapeutic space to enable you to explore your issues and difficulties by talking. These may consist of talking about life experiences that are from the past and present. By talking through these events this could involve discussing your emotions and feelings, as well as relationships, thoughts and behaviours.
I will endeavour to work with you in a therapeutic relationship which helps and supports you to deal with difficult feelings and thought patterns. I will encourage you to use the time and therapeutic environment to express yourself at ease in a trusting therapeutic relationship with myself. I can assist you in developing helpful coping strategies. I am willing to work with you based on any difficulties that you are experiencing which are having an impact on your identity, confidence, and day to day life.
Some of your difficulties might involve dealing with anger, anxiety, and stress issues. Discussing the personal relationships that you have whether this revolves around a partner, family member, work related relationship or an alternative relationship. You may be experiencing difficulties with having present or past experiences of abuse; this could be emotional, physical, or sexual. You may be experiencing loss and bereavement. Speaking to a Counsellor can aid a productive change and help you deal with what it is you wish to look at. I offer both long and short-term counselling; these sessions are available and can occur in the day or evening time.

Training, qualifications & experience
My first qualification which aided my interest in being a qualified Counsellor was through studying psychology and gaining a:
Bsc (Hons) Upper Division (2:1) degree in Psychology- Awarded by De Montfort University in Leicester.
I have since obtained a MA degree, which has enabled me to become a fully qualified Person-Centred/Humanistic Counsellor:
MA at Merit level in Person-Centred Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice- awarded by the University of Nottingham.
I have an individual membership in the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Counselling - £30 per 50 minute session
I will provide a safe and confidential space where you can talk to me and be open in your expression and voice. I will listen attentively to any issues or worries that you may have which are causing you emotional pain, intense emotions, and confusion. Working together in the therapeutic relationship with myself can help you develop better ways to cope with your situation by exploring ways of thinking and your feelings. Counselling with myself can assist you in gaining clarity and understanding of yourself, perceptions, and your problems.
