About me

Hello, my name is Rebecca. Often it can feel as though something isn't quite right and you might be struggling to pinpoint why, becoming almost 'stuck' and unable to move forward with your life. Perhaps you are struggling with relationships, experiencing stress, anger, depression, low self-esteem or anxiety, or you may have experienced a bereavement? No matter what your personal struggle, making that first contact with a counsellor can be daunting as it takes courage to enter a process of self enquiry and I am here to help you do that.

I was initially a teacher and since 2012 have retrained as a counsellor. I have a school counselling service supporting students and educational professionals through a range of difficulties. I have Advanced Specialist Training in Counselling Children and Young People through a charity called Teens in Crisis (TIC+) and have also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health and Well-Being.

I am an accredited bereavement counsellor volunteering for Cruse and The Foundation For Infant Loss, with experience of supporting people through unresolved, complex and traumatic grief.

We can experience grief at other times in our lives as well as after the death of a loved one, for example the loss of a job, a home, a marriage or any other relationship can also bring about feelings of grief.

My practice is based close to Newbury, Pangbourne and Reading. I will create a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment for you to explore what has bought you to counselling. You are free to decide if you feel comfortable in the counselling relationship and would like to work with me.

I focus on your needs using Person Centred and Psychodynamic techniques and update my training regularly, integrating this continuous learning in my work.
