I am described by my clients as a kind, caring, patient and compassionate; an exceptionally good and empathic listener who truly engages with clients.
My wealth of life and business experiences perfectly qualifies me as the ideal companion on your emotional journey.
I recognise we are all different and that counselling is not a one size fits all experience, therefore my approach to counselling is to tailor the therapeutic process to meet the individual needs of clients.
You are welcome to contact me on the number above for an informal chat. If you have special needs or just want to ‘check me out’ I will be happy to answer your questions. You will discover I am typically a “What you see is what you get” person.
I can be quite flexible where appointments are concerned and am happy to work around your schedule. I see clients during the day, some evenings and at weekends – Saturdays and Sundays.
I look forward to your call.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have studied and am qualified in a range of counselling models and believe the effectiveness of a counsellor is more important than qualifications themselves.
My maturity and professional experience have provided me with a wealth of diverse knowledge and understanding of life and people's needs. Studying in the University of Life has enabled me to connect with people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Areas of counselling I deal with
Sessions are usually of one hour duration and my fee is just £35 per session. It is not my intention to ‘be competitive’, I simply want to make counselling accessible and affordable to all. It has always been my policy and practice to give excellent value.
“Ray is a very kind, caring man who is exceptionally wise. He helped me in a very low time in my life ….. his thoughtful and understanding approach, based on careful listening was life-changing for me ….”
“I did not know what to expect. I was anxious and nervous. I am so glad I was brave. You were very supportive and kind. Thank you.”
“Having locked up my feelings about my father’s death for eight years I was sceptical that anything or anyone could help me deal with my grief…. I have come full circle and dealt with my loss and without Ray’s help I would not have been able to deal with the transition”
“You were welcoming and non-judgemental. You created a safe place where I could explore my thoughts, feelings and emotions…. thank you Ray for starting me on the path to finally dealing with my grief”.
