About me

I am a qualified and experience registered counsellor and psychotherapist who is passionate about mental health. I believe in people's potential to progress and if you have quite enough of low emotions and anxiety which keep you awake at night came and speak to me! As well as working with clients at a local Medical Practice (NHS-Primary Care Organisation) I also work privately with clients who seek to improve their psychological well being and for clients who look to work towards personal growth in Putney and Waterloo areas. I am also a behaviour therapist for young people with Autism at secondary school.

What can you expect from working with me

Counselling and Psychotherapy is about offering you a safe and trusting place for you to explore the difficulties that have led you to look for help. Somewhere you can be yourself and be accepted as well as to be listened to.

I offer a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space to talk through your problem(s). I am able to help you feel at ease in a comfortable environment where you can say how you really feel.

My priority is to put you at the heart of our work and to value what is important to you. The core of my work is to follow your agenda and area of work you wish to achieve, and support you along the way.

What to expect in your first session

In our first session we can use this time to discussion about what expectation you may have in counselling, perhaps you can share with me what you wish to achieve during our therapeutic work. It is a good time for me to gain some understand of what support you need from me and how can I help you with the problem you have. It is also a chance for you to ask any questions you may have and for me to explain how we can work together to get the best out of our session.

It is an opportunity for you to get an idea of what it might be like to work with me and whether or not you are happy with it, and if we both agree to work together we can arrange day and time that works for both of us. I will be open an honest with you about whether or not I am the right counsellor for you as it is important that you find the right counsellor that suitable for your need.

How can counselling help you

So many things in life obstruct and keep us away from where we wish to be, who we like to be, and how we like to relate to the world. Sometimes we struggle and feel we are alone with the problem, getting professional help from someone who is trained to listen to you and can provide the right support you need can be very beneficial and effective. Counselling can help you gain greater understanding of yourself in deeper level and situation that you are in. Counselling can lead you to a more positive energy.

How Do I work

My working style is friendly, warm and creative. I work openly with client and listen to what you want to focus within our therapeutic work. I don't advise as my work is about working together with you to help you find the way to cope and manage the situation you are in. I can offer you my understanding and accept who you are. I also help you to evaluate how or whether or not you would like to make a change to the way you wish to relate to your situation. The idea of me being here is to help you gain understanding of the cause of the problem you have.

My core training approach is Integrative, this means I am able to combine suitable approach to work effectively with you as an individual. Integrative skill help me enable to be flexible with work I do with you.

Depending on your need and presenting problem(s) I carefully combine approached I feel you can best benefit from. This sometimes involve looking at past relationship experiences to help you and me make sense of them( Psychodynamic/Analytical) and also involve looking at the 'here' and 'now'(Humanistic/Person-centred) This means gaining understanding from both the conscious and the unconscious.

I work creatively to suit your need and as part of my working approach I sometimes use CBT to help you get to the bottom of your core issue(s) to articulate what you think and how you feel as well as help you to connect with your personal space. It is not always easy to verbalise or express how your experience makes you feel, as sometimes the confusion gets in our way.

During your exploration when necessary I sometimes help you look at the underlying historical issues that might be causative or impact on the focus problem and gently challenge unhelpful thoughts and feelings that sometimes cause unhelpful patterns you seem to never understand why you end up in the similar situation again. This can help to open wider opportunities for you to see a different view and perspective in your situation which can be very powerful and beneficial to your personal growth.

Training, qualifications & experience

My professional support

I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling (MBACP) and Psychotherapy and work with the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice. My qualification is Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I am fully insured, up to date DBS certificate and have on going clinical supervision.

My working experiences is mainly in the mental health area as this is my area of interest and my passion. As well as working locally at NHS I am also currently mentor young students at the local school.

I work with clients who have a wide range of common mental health problems such as anxiety, BPD and ADHD, depression, panic attacks, anger management, work place stress, relationship problems, self esteem issues, loss and changes in life, sleep problem, physical health problems and occupational health issues.

I offer both short and long term work depending on your focus area. The therapeutic work is normally once a week, dates and times to be discussed.

My fees is £60 per session in Putney area.

For Waterloo area is £75 per session.

I have a parking space or 12-15 minutes walk from Putney overground and underground stations, if you prefer the bus from the station is 3 stops. The bus numbers are 14, 93, 39,85 and 37. For Waterloo area it is a short walk from Waterloo station.
