About me

I am a fully qualified integrative humanistic counsellor and currently offer counselling online (via Zoom) or via telephone.

I trained to become a therapist after receiving counselling myself for an issue I had been struggling with for some time. I was feeling completely overwhelmed and simply could not see a way forward.

I knew counselling was an option but I was terrified of opening up, that the therapist would judge me or would think that my worries were silly or not worth their time. How wrong I was.

Speaking to a therapist about my worries was like unravelling a big ball of tangled wool. The time and space I was given was a gift that enabled me to see more clearly and to feel the burden become lighter.

As a counsellor, I would like to offer you that same judgement-free space and time to discuss the things that are worrying you and explore ways to navigate these and move forward.

Therapy is for everyone and no issue is too small; if something is causing you to feel stressed, anxious or low then it is important to work through it and we can do this together.

I offer a free introductory chat of 20 minutes so that we can talk and you can decide if I am the right counsellor for you.

There is no obligation to proceed after a chat however, if you did want to go ahead, there is no requirement to sign up for a particular number of sessions. We can discuss what might work best for you and take it from there.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I am passionate about diversity and inclusion and believe that counselling should be accessible to all. In addition to my counselling role, I work as a Senior Disability Consultant and recognise that accessing and engaging with counselling might be particularly challenging for those with a long-term health issue, a disability or a neurodivergent condition. If you have particular needs that you'd like to discuss or if there are adjustments I can put in place to make counselling more comfortable for you, please let me know.
