About me

I endeavour to help and witness healing and growth. I offer Gestalt Psychotherapy for individuals, couples and groups. My style of working is a collaborative approach which draws on what you already know about yourself and expanding on that to gain a deeper understanding. The main aim of my work is to help clients resolve current difficulties or past issues by increasing the client's awareness of how they are both in their relationships with others and within their own body.

I also have have been in private practice for 20 years as a Psychotherapist and 15 years as a Supervisor. I am located in Beaconsfield within easy access of the M40, Gerrards Cross, High Wycombe and Amersham.

Common conditions that I work with include: anxiety, depression, loss, career and work difficulties, family and relationship difficulties and personal development.cleardot.gif I have a special interest in working with people suffering from:

  • chronic fatigue
  • fibromyalgia
  • ME and chronic pain.

When contacted, I usually suggest we set up an initial meeting to establish what has brought that person into therapy. If the relationship seems comfortable and we feel we can work together we will decide together a course of action and whether a fixed number of sessions is required or we want to work on an open ended basis. Usually clients are seen for 50 mins once a week, but there is flexibility depending on the needs of the individual.

I also run small therapy groups for anyone who feels that would be more beneficial (when working in a group we learn also from the struggles of others, which can help us in our own lives).

Couples Counselling
The way I work with couples is by building on what you already know and by helping you to increase awareness of how you communicate and how you are in relation to the other. I encourage you to speak openly and help you to clarify any misunderstandings or misinterpretations of the others perspective.

Please feel free to call me, to discuss anything further.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a BSc in Psychology (University of York) and MSc in Psychotherapy (University of Derby). I trained at the York Psychotherapy Training Centre and Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute. I am accredited by the UK Council for Psychotherapy and the Gestalt Psychotherapy Training Institute. I have been practising for over 20 years. I have worked in a Primary Care Trust, a Private Psychiatric hospital, Employee Assistance Programmes and in Private Practice. I trained as Supervisor at Metanioa (Integrative) and have been supervising for 15 years
