About me

If you feel like life doesn't make sense, or you are facing specific problems that don't seem to shift for you, or if you are feeling like life is too difficult, or your relationship with the world or with others isn't right, then maybe psychotherapy can help.

We can set up a brief series of sessions or we can explore what is happening for you over time. I was trained in mindfulness-based psychotherapy and I use the skills that I have studied and explored over the years which derive from many different therapy models. For practising psychotherapists I am also on the recognised list of supervisors at UKCP

Core Process Psychotherapy is a synthesis of Western psychology and Buddhist understanding which has been taught and developed over many years. It works with body, mind and feelings towards a greater sense of our underlying wholeness, emphasising exploring our particular experience and respecting each individual’s journey towards healing.

When you come to see me we will form a safe space in which to explore your feelings and thoughts about yourself, and your difficulties. We will build a positive therapeutic relationship from which you can feel more able to experience, face and heal what is distancing you from your sense of well-being.

I have been working as a psychotherapist since 2011. Since starting work I have worked with people who are facing a wide variety of difficulties, from stress and anxiety, to relationship problems such as depression and bipolar disorder and other life difficulties.

I have also had over 26 years' experience as an acupuncturist working one-to-one with people. This has given me a huge body of experience in relational and energetic work with people with many different issues.

Further information

When you come to see me we will work together to form a safe space in which to explore your feelings and thoughts about yourself, and your difficulties, to form a positive therapeutic relationship from which you become able to experience, face and heal what is distancing you from your well-being.

Core Process Psychotherapy, was established in 1982 and is one of the original mindfulness-based psychotherapy training programs. Buddhist psychology and mindfulness practice underpin this work and are integrated with western personality theory, psychodynamics and psychotherapy skills.

Core Process psychotherapy is all about the relationship between you and your therapist; it is about how we make sense together of the world we are in and how we understand what is happening. We are engaged in a joint healing process where an awareness of the body, its feelings and feeling tones, thoughts and imaginings are used to explore the nature of selfhood and how to find meaning and wellbeing.
