About me

There are many things that you might find yourself struggling with, such as, trying to seek meaning and purpose in life, work problems, relationship difficulties, addiction or mourning the losses and changes that are happening to our planet. You might be feeling adrift in a rapidly changing world, alone, cut off from others or caught in a trap and doing things that you do not find fulfilling anymore. Perhaps you are angry, anxious, depressed or having thoughts of suicide and you are unsure of how to cope with these feelings.

Identify and explore defence mechanisms that unconsciously crept into your life. Let’s create a space where mutual understanding and trust is highly valued.

I believe that counselling is a co-created relationship where you as well as myself are involved in process, this same way as crew of a sail, who set off the cruise to find your coveted land. As counselling progresses, I, together with you, encounter calm water, undulating seas and stormy weather. Mutual trust is essential in every condition from silence to a gale. Furthermore, I see my work as openness to not-knowing and willingness to explore.

I work with issues which include: anxiety, depression, loneliness, panic attacks, relationship difficulties, sexual stress, trauma, abuse, shame, bereavement, loss and grief, low self-esteem, anger management and overworking amongst many others.

I offer long and short term psychotherapy and counselling. As a bilingual professional, I offer counselling sessions in both, English and Polish language.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

I have successfully helped people with a wide range of issues and emotional difficulties including anxiety, depression, relationship and family problems, bereavement, stress and burn-out, addictions, post-traumatic stress and dissociation. I also specialise in helping people of both gender with their sexual health problems; such as erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, lack of arousal etc. Sometimes the issues are less specific, such as feeling stuck or facing a difficult life change.

In my practice our work can be either structured and goal orientated on solving a particular problem, enhance self-awareness or make a change in particular area, or designed for clients who has no fixed goal but still experiencing mental difficulties. Thus, instead of a clear agenda, unstructured psychotherapy focuses on release of inhibited within a client potential, which is necessary for growth of awareness and experiencing autonomy, spontaneity and intimacy in life.

I believe that psychotherapy is an opportunity to create an empathic bond in the consulting room to enhance capability to recognise destructive mechanisms and challenge them relationally to achieve satisfactory change for the client. I focus in my work on inter-subjectivity, conscious and unconscious processes emerging between and within you as well as myself, which allows me to understand of your unfulfilled needs in depth. I offer a co-creative counselling, and not done to.

The relationship with the therapist is particularly important and it is expected that unconscious conflicts, beliefs, feelings will inevitably find an expression within the therapy, and within the relationship with the therapist. Understanding these provides an opportunity for learning from this experience and is an important part of the psychotherapeutic work.
