About me

ONLY taking on new Supervisees for Supervision currently.  Thank you.

Hi, I'm Jo, a fully qualified passionate Counsellor/Psychotherapist (MBACP) I'm a focused and driven individual and have been providing support to others while empowering them to build on their own strengths for over 13 years.

Life can be challenging, and sometimes we all need a little help to navigate our way through difficult times. If you're feeling stuck, stressed, or overwhelmed, you're not alone - I'm here to support you. With over 12 years of experience as a working qualified practitioner, my approach is to offer a confidential, professional, and non-judgemental space where we can explore your current issues and work towards positive change. I use a range of evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-centred, Solution Focused, and Attachment theory to help my clients.

Confidentiality is paramount, and I offer a safe and supportive space where you can feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings with me. I have a wealth of experience working in different settings, including private practice, NHS (IAPT), private EAP, and consulting roles.

I work with positivity and offer a calm and considered style where openness and transparency is key. If you're looking for a friendly, professional, and trustworthy counsellor who can help you manage life's challenges, I'd love to work with you.

Call me today, Jo on 07825777976 to make a difference in your life

I have a BA (Hons) 1st Counselling Studies/Integrative Therapy degree and have regular clinical supervision as per BACP guidelines.

I currently offer telephone and video counselling and psychotherapy for adults and specialise in depression, anxiety and low self-esteem, and this can be delivered with short or long-term counselling sessions. As a proud member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy, I treat all of my clients with respect, fairness and dignity.

Your mental health matters, so why not join me for a free 10 minute consultation for first time clients to discuss your current concerns and see how I can help you...

By providing you with a free consultation, there will be an opportunity for us to talk through the counselling contract and for you to ask any questions. We will talk briefly as to why you are seeking counselling at this time and what you hope to achieve from it.

There is no obligation for you to take things further, however, if you do decide you would like to commit to the counselling, further sessions can be booked at this stage. It is a good way of alleviating any apprehension you may have and a warm welcome will be received. I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
