About me

Concerned organisations, teachers , other professionals and carers often approach the Adept Living Foundation for intervention and support in matters relating to Trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Complex Trauma.

Trauma has often arisen from events related to a career, such as the armed or emergency services and medical and caring professionals. Sometimes the events relate to accidents, the bereavement & grief of losing a loved one, or some form of past mistreatment, abuse or neglect.

We also care for those who may have been affected by compassion fatigue, which many teachers, carers and professionals can suffer from, as it is the cumulative impact of looking after others suffering.

Our intervention could include addressing some less healthy coping mechanisms that trauma sufferers might adopt, such as addiction, obsessive-compulsive behaviour, excessive worry, depression, and anxiety.

We take a holistic combination consistent with the Human Givens psychotherapeutic principles. We might include relaxation and guided imagery, mindfulness, CBT Coaching & anger management techniques, and support to meet physical, emotional and mental health needs.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

As agreed, please contact us with the requirement.
