About me

I have over 23 years’ experience working in corporate, hospitality /service industry which includes different groups of individuals with cultural backgrounds. I am a qualified human resource professional and a qualified counsellor specialising in Gestalt/Person Centric/Psychodynamic therapy. I am warm and empathic counsellor. It can be daunting to see a counsellor, I aim to do my best as I allow my client to have their space. I work flexibly and incorporate creatively and will tailor the therapy to suit my clients based on their needs and circumstances.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have completed my Diploma in Counselling and have completed my foundation degree in Psychodynamic therapy. In addition, I hold 3 Masters, in Business Administration, Human Resource Management and Business Psychology.

I have worked with corporates and worked in the service industry for more than a decade where I horned my skills of patience, listening and empathy.

After completing my Diploma in counselling, I gained voluntary experience as a counsellor in a non profit charity organisation working in the Domestic Violence project. During my training, I gained experience in areas of self- esteem and confidence, self-actualisation and personal growth. stress, anxiety & depression, bereavement, addiction, eating disorders, body image, relationships, Autism & Trauma.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I have interest in working with adults struggling with feelings of anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship issues or have suffered a loss of some kind or one of the many other things that bring people to counselling. My aim is to support my client working through these issues.

I am committed to open and transparent clinical practice and will assure my client that I am ethical, professional and that I work in the interest of my client. I have an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, I have a professional indemnity insurance and I am registered with BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
