Pinar McGivern MA UKCP reg. Mindfulness Based Psychotherapist - Online
I am an accredited and experienced mindfulness based psychotherapist, empowering clients to use their own inner wisdom to live more fulfilling lives, transforming the way they see their issues. I mainly work with relationship issues, separation, family issues, depression, anxiety and panic disorder, grief and addictions.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have an MA in mindfulness based Core Process Psychotherapy. I previously worked at Mind in Camden and at the Awareness Centre as a counsellor. I am an accredited member of UKCP.
I have diverse experience of providing therapy in the private and voluntary sectors, including working for a NHS service and within the charity sector. I currently work with individuals and couples in private practice, offering long and short-term psychotherapy.
Before training in psychotherapy for four and a half years, I did a degree in Film Studies and then worked in TV and film. During this time, I began exploring mindfulness and studied mindfulness over several years in its traditional setting in Nepal with meditation masters, experiencing the positive effects of mindfulness now being explained by neuroscience. I also work as a mindfulness coach having completed a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Programme developed by Jon Kabatt-Zin.
- Specialities: depression, relationship issues, panic attack, bereavement, anxiety, addiction, post natal depression, separation and divorce, anger management, OCD, borderline personality
