About me

I have over 25 years experience of working in the NHS, for the last 15 years of which I was employed as a Counsellor and Psychological therapist. I qualified as a person-centred Integrative Counsellor in 2004 and then as a Gestalt therapist in 2007. I have a wide range of experience and I am able to offer personalised  therapy to match the needs of each individual person I work with.

At any age, or time in our lives, we can all be impacted upon by problems, some of which can affect our well-being. Sometimes the problem is clear and at other times it is difficult to make sense of what is troubling us.

At times people are affected by issues from their past or current problems, or maybe concerns about the future. It could be a combination of different things. Perhaps you are having difficulties with how you are relating with others, or feeling alone or struggling with self esteem or confidence issues. Maybe you are having difficulty with adjusting to some life changes or have suffered a personal loss. Sometimes, problems can lead to depression, anxiety, panic attacks or stress. Many struggles people experience can seem outwardly  similar, but because we are all unique, experiences impact on us in ways that are very personal to each of us.

Alternatively, you may be looking for some time and support to reflect on your life. To work on some aspect of personal development, increasing your self-awareness and personal growth. Many people in a caring or helping role, be it professional or otherwise, can find having an independent confidential space a support to address managing their well-being.

How counselling therapy can help
If you would like to discuss and explore your present difficulties, I am able to offer a confidential space, where I can work alongside you as we consider together what is troubling you and to look for ways to assist you in moving forward, to reach a place where you can find resolutions to your difficulties and gain an increase in your sense of well-being.

What to expect in your first session.

I offer a free initial consultation to give you the opportunity to come and meet with me.

At this initial meeting we would start to discuss what is concerning you and what you would hope for from counselling. Then if you thought I was a suitable person for you to work with, we would make an initial contract for future sessions.
