Phillipa Whitehead

BA (Hons) - Reg.MBACP Qualified Psychotherapist

About me

Hello, my name is Phillipa and I would like to thank you for taking your time to read through my profile.

I am a fully qualified Integrative Psychotherapist who is BACP registered, working ethically within the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling & Psychotherapy (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy).

I have experience working with adolescents and individual adults in different settings, covering a vast range of psychological and emotional situations.

I can provide you with a comfortable and safe space, ensuring you feel heard and valued by listening in a non-judgemental manner so you can explore your own feelings at your own pace. You may have been struggling with issues for a number of years, you may be facing a current crisis or dealing with traumatic experiences from the past. You may have received other courses of treatment, counselling or therapy which you haven't fully benefited from. It may be that you feel 'stuck' in life or with a problem and want to make some positive changes or you may just simply want to be heard, valued and offload.

I work within a Person-Centred approach, which allows you to be in control as I respectfully help you to find your own solutions, unique potential and abilities, enabling you to make the most of life and its opportunities.

I can offer several other therapies depending on what you would like such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Neuro-Linguistic programming and Motivational Interviewing.

This integretive way of working gives you the choice to decide which therapy is best for you.

I can offer long term or short term/brief therapy.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
