I am qualified to practice the therapeutic models of Person-Centred Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Integrative counselling. I am also currently employed as a Curriculum Leader for Counselling involved in the training of counsellors, CBT therapists and clinical supervisors. I also currently work for a National Awarding Body for Counselling training as a National Examiner and Moderator.
The person-centred approach is based on the theory and philosophy of Dr Carl Rogers. It is a non-directive approach to being with another; that believes in the others potential and ability to make the right choices for him or her self, regardless of the therapist's own values, beliefs and ideas.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy can help people who are experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties. What people think can affect how they feel and how they behave. This is the basis of CBT.
Couples Counselling is an effective way to help you feel better about your relationship. Couples Counselling allows you to deal with any negative feelings or behaviours you have within your relationship and helps to overcome your issues. It’s a talking therapy that allows you to talk about your problems and feelings together in a secure, supportive and dependable environment.
Talking therapy such as Counselling is ideal for relationships as at their core a relationship is about communication, and that’s not just talking! It’s how we listen and respond, it’s also our body language, actions and all the different forms of physical interaction and intimacy. Importantly it’s about communicating to ‘get your needs met’ and that’s both of your needs!
During times of mental distress, people think differently about themselves and what happens to them. Thoughts can become extreme and unhelpful. This can worsen how a person feels. They may then behave in a way that prolongs their distress.
CBT practitioners help each person identify and change their extreme thinking and unhelpful behaviour. In doing this, the result is often a major improvement in how a person feels and lives.
I believe you deserve to be happy and fulfilled in your life and that you have the ability to make that happen. Life can be challenging and difficult and I am trained to help you through your troubles and to support you to make changes in your life.
I believe that we all have a basic need for help and support. I am an independent, non-judgemental professional, who has been trained to support you and help you find the internal resources to resolve your problems.
From my experience, I know that counselling and psychotherapy can help people make profound changes in their lives and relationships. These changes happen through a greater understanding of ourselves and why we think, feel and behave in certain ways. That understanding enables us to accept ourselves and make changes within a safe and supportive environment.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
