About me

Hi I'm Philip and I'm here to help. If your feeling sad, worried or stuck and would like to talk or find new ways of coping then please get in touch.

I am currently using Zoom for online video sessions and continue to provide telephone counselling.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and follow their professional standards and Ethical Framework. This means I use a range of skills and techniques depending on your needs and do so in a safe and confidential environment.

My goal is to promote community mental well-being and make support services more accessible to our community.

I can facilitate evening appointments to suit you.

Training, qualifications & experience

Level 3 Diploma in Child pyschology

Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling

Level 5 Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

I have worked with many clients experiencing a diverse range of life problems including depression, anxiety, addiction, relationship problems, bereavement, conflict related problems, self-esteem, work related stress, young persons counselling, sexual identity, family problems, and chronic health conditions.

My goal is help for all and I am in Continuous professional development to improve my knowledge and skills.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Standard individual session fee is £40.00.

Couples or Family Counselling session fee is £50.00.

In line with our ethos of promoting mental health and making counselling support more accessible within the community,

during COVID-19 online counselling for HSC workers is Free.

Flat rate for online counselling session is £30 per hour

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs.
