Philip Carr , Psychotherapist, Dip Coun, MBACP.
Hi, I'm Philip
I specialise in working with trauma. I work with single event trauma and developmental trauma.
Whatever type of trauma you have experienced, the symptoms can be difficult to manage, if you have experienced an extremely stressful or disturbing event that has left you feeling helpless or out of control, you may have been traumatised, trauma can leave us feeling numb, unable to connect with or trust others, feeling insecure, experiencing difficult memories and high anxiety levels. I offer a very personal neuro-affective relational model that can assist you in returning to some emotional balance, helping to restore the nervous system regulation that can be affected through trauma.
I also work with developmental trauma that occurs through difficulties in childhood that may still be affecting your ability to function as an adult. things like low self esteem, difficulties in being genuine or true to your feelings, struggling to make your needs clear or a sense of withdrawal from the world, if you have difficulties maintaining relationships or "get lost" in them, then my work can allow you to explore and discover why. I offer a healing process that improves a persons capacity to be alive and fulfill their potential.
