About me

No question is too big or small to bring to therapy. Perhaps you have a sense that something in your life isn’t feeling quite right and would like to make sense of this, or perhaps you are struggling with issues within relationships with loved ones and would like for these to improve. It may be that you have been struggling with low mood, depression or anxiety and have taken the first step of seeking support. As a Systemic Psychotherapist, I work with Families, Couples and Individuals. I work in a way which is collaborative, recognising and drawing upon people’s strengths.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have over 12 years experience working within a Local Authority setting and within CAMHS and I am a qualified Systemic Family and Couples Psychotherapist registered with the UKCP and AFT.

My hope within the work is that I can support people to overcome issues which have caused them distress and to find new ways of coping so that change made is sustainable in the long term.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

I work with individual, couples and families and have over 12 years experience working in Local Authorities and within the NHS. I work both online and see clients in person and I’m based at the Natural Health Centre in Kings Heath, Birmingham.

When working systemically, we view problems as existing within relationships and are curious about their impact on a person’s life. We may be thinking about how problems may have manifested over time and what informs them. Often we think about the influence of unhelpful patterns and explore a person’s strengths and resilience to resisting or reducing their impact.

Seeking therapy can be anxiety provoking; talking about sensitive issues can be very difficult. People with whom I have worked, have said that they find me to be friendly, approachable and supportive, helping them to develop a different relationship with the issues they have come to therapy to think about.
