About me

My name is Peter.  I am a Therapist / Counsellor of over 20 years and have worked in a variety of settings including a large NHS hospital, a prison, a residential home and school, plus a charity.

I am a caring person whom people find very easy to talk to.  I am genuine in my desire to help others and have a warm friendly approach which assists people to quickly build trust in me.  I have helped many hundreds of people to better understand and resolve their mental and emotional health issues, enabling them to confidently move forward in their lives.

How I work:

I use a modern therapeutic approach which helps people understand what mental and emotional health conditions they are suffering from, how they are caused, and how they can be resolved.  I will help you to uncover what needs are not being met in your life, and how to best meet them to ensure that your life is as fulfilling as possible.

I will also help you to create goals for your future, setting tasks in-between sessions, to complement the work we do together enabling you to take the benefits of therapy into your life.

Depression : Understand what depression actually is, how it is caused, and how to beat it !

Anxiety : Understand and overcome excessive anxiety.  Learn how to relax.

The first session:

During your first session we will get to know each other and agree on what issues we can work on, for your best benefit.

My service is exclusively on-line which means you do not necessarily have to leave your home for sessions.

I look forward to helping you feel better using as few sessions as possible.

I can be available Monday to Thursday including evenings, plus can offer appointments on Saturdays also.  Feel free to contact me via e mail.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
