Peter Robinson-Vernon MBACP
Tyne And Wear
Hi, my name is Pete. Let me start by saying that I understand coming for counselling can often feel like a big step so I aim to provide you with a comfortable, safe and confidential place to explore your thoughts and feelings.
I'm based in Gosforth, Newcastle. My practice is easily accessible by public transport, as I use varies locations around Newcastle to make it easier for the client. I offer flexible appointment times including some evenings and weekends. Face-to-face or Skype sessions.
I am a BACP Registered Counsellor experienced in providing counselling Person Centred and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for a wide range of issues. I have a special interest in anxiety disorders. I provide employee counselling for organisations in the North East. I work with people who refer themselves for counselling and people who are referred by their employer. Sessions can be arranged in Newcastle, South Shields and Gateshead or via telephone or Skype.
I am a fully qualified Counsellor member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (certificate number 749031). This means that I have reached a recognised level of competent practice which complies fully with BACP guidelines and ethics and I am listed on the register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists which is approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health & Social Care.
My counselling training began in 2005 when I was trained by Age UK to work with groups and face to face within bereavement counselling helpline. I have also worked as a Counsellor for a variety of different organisations, local charity's for families and individuals and local high schools.
How counselling can help
I believe that everybody is different and what works for one person does not necessarily work for another so I tailor my approach to suit each person. I provide a supportive and confidential environment to allow the exploration of experiences of loss, conflict, confusion and despair.
I understand that coming to counselling can be a big step so during your first session I answer any questions or concerns you may have about counselling so you can decide if you would like to begin sessions. Counselling can be short or long term depending on the issues you are facing and your personal requirements.
