About me

My name is Peter Clarke, and I am a fully qualified counsellor. I have many years of experience of working in the community with individual clients from age 17 upwards. I have worked for Cruse Bereavement, Lenadoon Community Counselling Service and East Belfast Community Counselling.

In regards to my practice, I will work collaboratively with you, to ensure you develop the tools to cope with life’s trials and tribulations. By capitalising on your pre-existing skills, it is my intention to bring to the forefront, your strengths whilst helping you recognise and improve on your weaknesses.

Using clinically tested and evidence based interventions, I have provided hundreds of hours of 1-1 counselling in a community setting throughout Belfast. This has afforded me a wealth of experience in working with anxiety, depression, loss and bereavement.

With both anxiety and depression becoming ever more prevalent in todays society, and research suggesting that Cognitive behavioural Therapy is effective in treating both, I employ an integrative counselling approach that has its foundation in CBT.

Also, I have been involved in the music industry for 20+ years, as a performer, promoter, record label owner, merchandiser and manager. Therefore, I have an insight into many aspects of the business, including a deep understanding of the trials that come with touring, performing, recording and being a manager.
