I grew up in the North West of England between Manchester and Liverpool and went to school and college in Wigan and Warrington. I have always been fascinated by people and even then I knew I wanted to do something that would help people.
My working life has included teaching maths in Warrington, Leigh and Liverpool, working in an IT role and as an IT customer support officer. About 20 years ago I went by chance to a talk on hypnotherapy and I was hooked. I started my training as a hypnotherapist and psychotherapist and have been expanding my knowledge ever since. I have listed a lot of the courses I have done below.
I also like to think that, since I have had first-hand experience of many of life’s problems and painful situations, I have greater understanding of what my clients are going through. I was bullied at school, had an extreme phobia of wasps, have suffered with IBS, been addicted to cigarettes, been divorced and bereaved, had car accidents and suffered panic attacks. I have also known the pain of very severe back and neck problems. And it was by sorting these problems out for myself that I learned how best to help others.
I am now happily married and my wife is a psychotherapist as well. Between us we've been involved in training nearly two hundred therapists in a range of modalities including a diploma course in hypno-psychotherapy, NLP practitioner and EFT .
I also work as a supervisor for other therapists in different disciplines, including counselling, NLP, and hypnotherapy working both in NHS and private practice. I am constantly updating my skills so as to be able to help my clients as effectively as possible.
People tell me that I am very patient and calm and that this makes them feel at ease when they come to see me. I hope this is so! What I can promise is that I treat all my clients with respect and without judgement and that everything they tell me will be completely confidential.

I have also helped many of them establish themselves in private practice. I am recognised as a supervisor for four other national therapy organisations.
