About me

I am a registered UKCP analytic psychotherapist, counsellor and supervisor with over 20 years experience working with many different people from all walks of life, who may be facing challenges with anxiety and depression, relationship problems, marital breakdown, life crisis and transitions, low self esteem, loss and bereavement.

You may have found yourself feeling deeply unhappy, perhaps without knowing what is wrong. Or you may feel overwhelmed by powerful feelings and thoughts some of which don't seem to be connected with a particular event.

It is not uncommon for people to sometimes find themselves unable to break out of old patterns, some of which may be damaging to themselves and to the people around them.

Therapy can be a life changing process enabling you to feel more effective and fulfilled in your life. Psychotherapy provides a safe and confidential space in which to address current problems and where unresolved difficulties from the past can be explored and worked through, giving a greater sense of freedom and hope for the future.

I am experienced in working with Skype Zoom and FaceTime and work with people from different parts of the world as well as the UK. I have been in private practice in Oxford for many years seeing people for both long-term analytic psychotherapy and short-term focused therapy.

If you have any questions or you would like to arrange an initial consultation please contact me by phone on 07879 626 037 or email.

Training, qualifications & experience

From 1986 to 1990 I studied Psychoanalysis and Philosophy with the Philadelphia Association in London. I am formally accredited with the UKCP and a member of the Site for Psychoanalysis, a successor organisation of the Philadelphia Association.

Prior to training as a psychotherapist I worked for several years in the public sector as a senior social worker and as a community worker. I worked in mental health and then with children and families before moving on to become a manager. It was in this capacity that I developed my skills and resources as a supervisor and coach.

I have been practising as a psychotherapist since 1989 working with both short term and long term patients as well as supervising and training counsellors and psychotherapists. I also work as a coach and non managerial supervisor for a number of voluntary and statutory sector personal, including social workers, community workers and managers at all levels.

I have a Certificate of Qualification in Social Work (CQSW) and an MA in Social Policy and Sociology. I completed 5 years training in analytic psychotherapy and am fully accredited with the UKCP.
