About me
I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist.
I am also a trained EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) therapist.
HOW MIGHT THERAPY HELP?
I know from experience both how daunting it can feel to be considering therapy, but also how helpful it can be. Having the space and time to talk, feel, think and explore within a safe, confidential, trusting relationship can help you make sense of your experiences. This is often the first important step in healing, meeting life’s challenges, making positive changes and choices, and achieving growth and progress.
HOW DO I WORK?
As an integrative counsellor, I have been trained in and can draw on different ideas and approaches to support you. I draw particularly on person-centred and existential ideas, and I can offer creative methods of exploration.
I can also offer EMDR therapy, either as a stand-alone therapy, or in combination with talking therapy.
People seek therapy for many different reasons, and I believe every client is a unique individual who deserves to be fully heard, understood and valued. I aim to support and empower clients within a safe therapeutic relationship based on honesty, trust and collaboration. In our sessions, I will help you explore and gain insight into your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and relationships. We will work together to find answers to problems, consider ways of living with difficulties and distress, and move towards achieving what is most important to you.
WHO DO I WORK WITH?
I work with adult clients of all ages and backgrounds. I can offer short and longer term therapy.
My areas of special interest and expertise include:
- Mid-life, menopause and later life issues
- Loss, bereavement and grief
- Relationship difficulties
- Isolation and loneliness
- Anxiety and low mood
- Stress
- Living with chronic conditions
- Traumatic life experiences
- Appearance concerns.
I also have experience working with clients facing the following concerns and difficulties:
- Insomnia and sleeplessness
- Depression
- Thoughts about death and suicide
- Self-harm.
What is EMDR Therapy?
EMDR Therapy can facilitate the processing and recovery from disturbing, difficult and traumatic life events. I can offer EMDR as a stand-alone approach, or it can be combined with a longer-term talking therapy approach. If you are interested in EMDR, we can discuss what you would like and how this might work for you before you start.
WHEN AND WHERE AM I AVAILABLE?
I currently offer sessions on Tuesday afternoons/evenings and Fridays all day, in a comfortable counselling room in the S10 area of Sheffield. The room is on the second floor of a building without lift access. Free parking is available onsite and the room is close to tram and bus stops.
I am generally fully booked, but please let me know if you would like me to add you to my waiting list.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
