About me

I am a HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist, BPS RAPPS listed Supervisor, EMDR Europe Accredited Clinical Consultant & Supervisor, EMDRIA-Approved EMDR Consultant and Level 3 trained in IFS. I have been an independent Chartered psychologist since 2003.

I specialise in helping individuals regain their lives after being impacted upon by stress, anxiety, depression, injury or trauma. I enjoy working using a collaborative approach in a safe, calm environment with adults over the age of 18. I use holistic and integrative style which draws on both top-down (mind/cognitive)  and bottom-up (body/somatic) approaches.

I mainly use Internal Family Systems (IFS) (a gentle approach to parts work) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and or Attachment-Focused EMDR (AF-EMDR)/AI-EMDR for trauma and relational/attachment trauma. I'm also trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - which includes mindfulness; Sensorimotor psychotherapy - a somatic/body therapy to help the client process the issue; Rational-Emotive Behaviour therapy (REBT), Mindfulness and CBT and integrate these within a Humanistic framework using what is most appropriate after consultation with yourself. I offer short, medium or longer-term work.

I am also a registered Occupational Psychologist and Coaching Psychologist and possess 20 years of business experience in a variety of sectors which means that I have worked with organisations and employees, understand the impact work can have upon mental health and provide counselling for this.

I have worked in the NHS services with Adults and young Adults (severe and enduring mental health) e.g. depression, anxiety, self-harm, trauma etc providing medium to long-term therapy. I also have experience in CAMHS providing individual therapy for young adults e.g. depression, anxiety, self-harm.

Types of issues I deal with include but are not limited to: attachment issues, depression, anxiety, stress, trauma/abuse, Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Complex PTSD (C-PTSD), anger, self-harm, road-traffic or industrial accidents, physical injuries or health-related issues, bullying and performance issues at work or in sport, lack of confidence/low self-esteem.

I provide supervision to therapists, psychologists and coaches. I also provide counselling to other therapists.

I am a qualified Business and Executive coach I also provide coaching for work-related issues e.g. performance, change of career/life direction.

Referrals: AXA PPP; BUPA; AVIVA; WPA,;CIGNA and other insurers recognised psychologist. Individuals may self-refer. I also take referrals from GPs, psychiatrists and agencies.

I am a Chartered Psychologist; Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Counselling and Occupational Psychologist, Supervisor and Coaching Psychologist. I am also an EMDR Europe Accredited Clinical Supervisor and Consultant (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing); an EMDRIA-approved EMDR Consultant and have qualifications in Attachment-focused EMDR (AF-EMDR) and AI-EMDR; Internal Family Systems (IFS) - (level 1, Level 2 - trauma, experiential somatic IFS, Level 3); Rational-Emotive Behaviour therapy (REBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for the Treatment of Trauma and Attachment/Developmental injuries (Levels 1 & 2); Mindfulness; Business and Executive coaching and training in Cognitive-Behaviour therapy (CBT).

I have been an independent chartered psychologist since 2003. I have trained in a variety of NHS hospitals in mental health (Adult and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and provide therapy for a variety of mental health issues e.g. PTSD, depression, anxiety etc. I have over 20 years business experience in public and private sectors.

I offer supervision to therapists, psychologists and coaches. I also offer business, leadership and career coaching. I am fully trained in psychometrics and use this within my coaching practice.

Cancellation: If you are unable to attend your appointment please let me know as soon as possible via email. The required notice for cancellation is 48 hours. Where there is less than 48hrs notice – cancellation the day before, 50% of the full fee will be charged. If you fail to attend your appointment or cancel on the same day the normal fee will be charged. I hope you appreciate that it is rarely possible to fill these appointments at such short notice which is why I am obliged to charge for missed appointments and the room rental cost.
