About me

Counselling and Life Coaching with Payal - a pathway to healing, recovery, change and fulfilment.

Hello and welcome. My name is Payal and I am a qualified integrative therapist, coach and NLP practitioner. I offer a professional face to face Counselling and Coaching service in the Harrow and London area. I also offer video and telephone sessions for added convenience.

Please note, due to current restrictions with COVID-19, I am working online/telephone only. This means I can offer you a therapeutic space from the comfort of your own home and your location need not be an issue.

I have over 14 years of clinical experience of providing one to one and group counselling sessions. I am very passionate about my work and have successfully helped over 100 people that includes over a 1000 clinical hours working with clients.

How I Can Help

Emotional challenges are something we all have at some point in our lives, whether we are able to recognise them or not. Feelings are part of being human and it would be impossible to go through life without having struggles at some point, whatever that may be.

o   Do you feel depressed and struggle to see a way out?

o   Do you experience anxiety and unsure of how to manage this?

o   Do you feel overwhelmed with negative thoughts?

o   Do you struggle with low self esteem?

o   Have you experienced the loss of a loved one?

o   Perhaps events and experiences from your past are making it difficult to move forward?

o   You may have experienced physical, emotional, verbal, and or psychological abuse or trauma

o   Perhaps there is conflict in your life, work and or relationships?

o   Would you like to heal your pain and move forward, so that you can experience a more fulfilling life?

o   Are you fed up and wanting change?

Whatever you may be feeling, there are times in life that talking with a qualified professional counsellor can help.

According to the mental health charity Mind, one in four people in Britain are affected by or living with a mental health problem. Counselling or talking therapies can be helpful for a wide range of issues, including managing common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression, and overcoming difficult times we may face or have faced in our lives.

How I Work

I work as an integrative counsellor, using person-centred, CBT and psychodynamic approaches in my clinical practice. I chose my particular training programme as I did not wish to restrict myself and what I could offer to potential clients to one specific theoretical approach. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

I am committed to offering a safe and confidential space in which you can explore your thoughts and feelings and make sense of your difficulties, without feeling judged. Whatever it may be that is going on for you, talking with a trained professional can help.

I approach all of my clients with cultural sensitivity and recognise that one size does not fit all, thereby adapting my services to meet individual requirements.

Why Choose Me

I love what I do. Nothing gives me greater joy than seeing my clients transform and succeed in reaching their goals through our working together. It was my own personal experience of having counselling that motivated me to train as a therapist over 15 years ago. Having always had a desire to help people and experiencing how powerful counselling can be in creating positive change myself, I wanted to professionally train to be able to help others too.

As well as being a qualified counsellor, I am also a certified coach. It should be noted that there can be overlap between the two. I can tailor the way I work in order to suit your specific needs and we can discuss this further upon initial consultation.

I believe that everyone has the potential to heal, change and grow towards becoming the best version of themselves. It would be my honour to be with you on your journey of healing, recovery, change and fulfilment. I understand that taking the first step is usually the hardest but please know that the road ahead need not be travelled alone. I believe that at the heart of effective therapy, it is the relationship between client and therapist that matters the most.

I offer a FREE telephone consultation so why not contact me NOW to see how I can help.

A recent testimonial:

“When I first spoke to Payal on the phone, I knew she would be the right therapist for me. We had an immediate rapport and ease with one another. She was kind and compassionate and made it really easy to make a booking and even prepare for our first session.

The phone conversation had proved right, we hit it off when we met. I had been to therapy a few times in the past but had not experienced any real change. One of the first things Payal said to me was ‘your life can be what you want it to be.’ I didn’t believe her at that time!!!

We began our work together and gradually I started to think differently and see my life from a different perspective. Payal gave me hope and confidence in the process. Often she would challenge me. Even though that was tough, it was the best thing for me. I appreciate her unrelenting pursuit for my progress.

I am by no means a ‘finished work’ but I have been empowered and inspired to live the life that I desire. I can now counsel myself through (past) negative thoughts or events in a way I couldn’t before my therapy with Payal. Rather than feeling dependent upon her, as I did with previous therapists, I feel equipped to handle situations on my own and even help others. I now believe my life can be what I want it to be!

I recommend Payal to anyone who wants to see real transformation in their life and is ready to do the work that comes with all things that are worth having” (Linda, 45, London).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
