You may be feeling anxious and worried or unsure of taking the next step in your life ….. You may be feeling depressed, sad or overwhelmed by difficult and sometimes painful life experiences due to a loss or bereavement ……. I can help you find a way forward and begin to make sense of your world …..
I can offer you a warm and safe place to enable you to explore sensitive, emotional and personal issues that you may be experiencing. I can provide a caring and supportive relationship, where you can discover and develop a deeper understanding of the options and choices that are there for you.
You may at times ask yourself - how can I be happier? I believe each individual can find their own unique way of living a more fulfilled life. I can help you understand how your long held beliefs and personal difficulties are holding you back and are no longer useful for you. With my help you can change these beliefs and overcome the difficulties you have identified by becoming more resourceful and positive in your outlook.
You need to feel confident that who you choose to help you is professionally trained and qualified, as well as someone who you feel you can trust and be comfortable with to provide you with a confidential counselling service. I am a person centred, integrative counsellor with twenty years experience and I am a senior BACP accredited member. In addition to my counselling profession, I am also a qualified family social worker who has worked primarily with families and couples.
I have worked extensively in the private sector and within voluntary organisations. I have provided counselling for people from various backgrounds, tailoring my approach to each individual.
I have many years experience working within a bereavement service providing counselling support for parents whose children have died and I also provide a specialised sensitive and caring service that supports parents and families preparing for a death.
I have also worked extensively for a specialist eating disorders service where I provided psychotherapy and counselling for individuals and their families affected by eating disorders.
I have a down to earth approach and feel very passionate about working with people in these specialist areas
My aim is to offer you quality time where I engage with you in a meaningful relationship and we work together at your pace, to enable you to reach better coping strategies that can lead you to a more fulfilled life and therapeutic healing, which in turn can bring you to a place of wellbeing and happiness.
Our work together begins with your telephone call …… I look forward to hearing from you.
