Pauline Allen Ad Prof Dip PC Counsellor/Psychotherapist Reg MBACP MNCS (Accred)
Therapy is an opportunity to talk about your concerns and issues in a way you may not be able to do with family and friends; working in confidence and in a safe environment to make changes in your life and improve your well-being.
I practice from an integrative model of psychotherapy with a strong relational focus and having a person-centred condition of acceptance, genuineness and unconditional and positive regard at the heart of my practice.
I specialise in both short-term and long-term psychotherapy. I work with clients who experience a wide range of psychological and emotional issues. Areas I work in are: Depression, stress & anxiety, self-esteem & confidence, anger-management and Bereavement & loss (death, divorce, health losses).
I am also an Infant Loss Professional working with bereaved parents who have lost their baby due to stillbirths, miscarriages and other issues related to childbirth and Bereavement. I feel this is an area of Bereavement that is so needed in the NHS and to offer support to parents during and after their loss. To provide practical help and information that they need at a time that is so traumatic.
- Person-centred Therapy
- Behavioural Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Infant Loss Bereavement Therapy
I specialise in Grief Counselling and continue to work for Cruse Bereavement Care on a voluntary basis.
I am an Infant Loss Professional Bereavement Counsellor Accredited with The Foundation for Infant Loss.
I have a great deal of interest in Mindfulness for which I'm trained in and continue to practice myself.
I am also a professional Hypnotherapist and integrate techniques accordingly in my counselling and Hypnotherapy practice.
If you choose a Hypnotherapy programme, this usually occurs over 3-6 sessions, scripted to your individual needs. This helps to break unhealthy thoughts patterns and habits, to bring about positive subconscious change through a process of relaxation and through this process, helping you to remain in control.
I work transparently at all times and at your pace in a warm and empathetic manner. The sessions are relaxed and confidential.
However, I do not specialise in Couples Counselling.
