About me

Welcome to ellipsis.counselling, how can I help?

I wonder what you would like to explore in therapy? Maybe you are struggling with anxiety or depression which are affecting your everyday functioning and relationships? Maybe you are wondering about neurodiversity? Maybe you are seeking to better understand yourself and the patterns that seem to be repeating in your life? Maybe you are exploring your identity or sexuality? Or maybe you are suffering because of the impact of childhood or recent trauma which hasn’t been processed?

I hope we can explore what you are looking for during an initial session to decide if I am the right therapist for you.

The initial session will take place online and afterwards we will agree on online, telephone or in person sessions. My office is located on Constitution Street, EH6 6RS, Leith. It is on the first floor, without a lift.

If you have any questions, please contact me. I am transparent in my practice and aim to co-create a space that will facilitate the exploration and changes you would like to make, at your pace.

Training, qualifications & experience

If you would like to know more about my qualifications and experience, please ask. I have a PG Diploma in Counselling – Interpersonal Dialogue (2017) and a Master’s in Counselling – research on working with suicidality (2019) from the University of Edinburgh. I am an accredited member of BACP and adhere to their ethical codes of practice. I am undertaking a certification to start working with relationships and couples from June 2025.

My practice is a safe and inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ folk and/or those in open relationships. I have an extensive experience of working with Gender, Sex and Relationship Diversity (GSRD). I aim to meet you where you are regardless of the intersectionality of your identity (race, ethnicity, age, dis-ability, gender, sexuality or neurodiversity).

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I have been offering sessions to adult clients (16+) since 2016 and worked in diverse settings. With charities like PF Counselling and Feniks in Edinburgh, where I have worked with Clients on autistic spectrum, gender fluid and transitioning Clients and survivors of childhood sexual abuse and domestic violence; in private practice where I am working with complex trauma, Clients with diagnosis of chronic conditions or Clients who are coping because of suicidal ideation; I have also worked at universities as a student counsellor (short term counselling) and facilitator of learning groups and mentor of counselling trainees.

I am a bilingual therapist, practicing in English and Polish. As an integrative psychotherapist, qualified in Person-Centred and Psychodynamic approaches, I facilitate the mind-body connection. Therefore, you might experience me as inviting you to notice your feelings, thoughts and sensations in your body which we will explore through empathic understanding. And as therapy can be a challenging process, a type of work, I will offer you strategies to support your (self) regulation and care. We will continue to stay engaged in a dialogue to understand what works best for You.
