About me

Hi there! My name is Paula, and I am an integrative counsellor, which means I draw on different therapeutic interventions to suit individuals needs. I have experience of working with individuals who have generalised anxiety disorder, depression, bereavement and all other areas of mental well-being. Sometimes feelings can come out of the blue and seem to have no specific cause, I will help you to explore and understand this so you can make changes to how you feel.

Our first session-

The first session is to talk about the issues you are having, and how we can work together, to help you work those issues out. It is also an opportunity for you to ask questions that you may have about me and how I work.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained as a counsellor at Staffordshire University for five years to gain my qualifications. I have experience of working within a college environment with students, and also work as a adult counsellor at Harmony counselling in St.Helens. I run my own business at Asl Therapeutic Counselling.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
