About me

Are you struggling with low mood or anxiety? Perhaps this is affecting your performance at work or your relationships? Maybe you have experienced years of low self-esteem or depression or feel you are not the person you once were? We all experience difficulties in life and carry negative beliefs about ourselves. This can lead to feelings of low self-worth which can negatively impact our lives.

As an integrative therapist, I have different tools that I can help you use to move through any difficulties you may be experiencing. This can be a daunting prospect, but I am here to guide and help you through any difficult emotions that may arise and I will listen and support you in an empathic and non-judgemental way.  This will be your time to feel heard and work through those thoughts and feelings that are troubling you.

I have extensive experience helping people with stress, anxiety, depression, panic, life transitions and bereavement, as well as specifically with coercive control (abusive relationships and religious trauma).

Whatever it is that you are carrying, I am confident that we can work together to help you feel better and more in control.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked for Crisis and Homestart and for charities supporting NHS counselling services and I currently work in a university supporting students with their mental health, alongside my private practice. I am trained in Psychodynamic, Person-Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy models. I work integratively and we will discuss in depth the best approach for you.

I am in continuous supervision and undertake regular CPD courses, which have recently included trauma work and working with young adults.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Additional information

I work exclusively online, which makes therapy a lot more accessible. The pandemic revolutionised online therapy; it brought help directly into the living rooms of millions of people around the world who needed support in such a challenging time and recent research (BACP, 2021) found it to be equally as effective as in-person therapy. Whilst in-person therapy is also hugely beneficial, we still have the benefit of being able to sit face-to-face but you are in the comfort of your own home or office, which really aids the therapeutic relationship. I work on Zoom from a private and confidential work space in North London.
