About me

As a qualified psychodynamic therapist with many years of experience, working with children, individuals and couples, I am able to offer a nonjudgmental safe place to explore the underlying feelings that may have arisen. The key to successful therapy is finding the right therapist for you. However good a therapist is, it is the relationship between the two of you that determines whether you trust them enough, and they come to understand you enough, to help you explore and find solutions for your problems.

Together we will explore the issues that are troubling you, whether they stem from past difficulties and the effects it can have on the present. I will offer you a confidential space that can help us develop a unique, therapeutic relationship that brings you insight and understanding.

Training, qualifications & experience

My role as a therapist is not to judge, assume or diagnose. My approach is always non-dogmatic, supportive and involved. It is important that you feel safe and contained within the therapeutic relationship, and that an environment is created where you feel comfortable, understood and free to speak openly.

My aim, both initially and throughout, is to help you give voice to, as well as understand more fully, those areas of your life that feel difficult, painful, unfulfilled or stuck. Such understanding can be useful, illuminating and cathartic in its own right, but beyond this, it can also help us make decisions about those things we may wish to change, as well as come to terms with those things that we can't.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BPC

British Psychoanalytic Council

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.

BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

The key to successful therapy is finding the right therapist for you. However good a therapist is, it is the relationship between the two of you that determines whether you trust them enough, and they come to understand you enough, to help you explore and find solutions for your problem.

We can meet for a single session, to discuss what you are looking for from therapy. Only you can decide whether you are with the right therapist for you. Do not be afraid to ask questions or request further information before making your mind up.

Before agreeing to see a particular therapist, ask yourself:

  • would you feel comfortable telling them intimate details of your life?
  • do you feel safe with them?
  • do you like their manner towards you?
  • could you be completely open with them?
