Paul Thorley-Ryder Counselling, EMDR and Supervision
My name is Paul and I am here to help you learn to cope and understand how you think, feel and act. So you can make the positive changes in your life that you've been thinking about and hoping for. I am a professionally qualified, BACP-accredited and registered counsellor with 10 years’ experience. I can help with a range of problems and issues - please call me to discuss your situation. I'm happy to give a free phone consultation to safely ensure we can work together.
Sessions are usually face to face, weekly for around an hour, or we can work online, by phone or via email or instant messaging. However, I find that face to face sessions are most beneficial to clients, so this is recommended wherever possible.
Your work will centre around your development of awareness, and this is a process that I will support you with - giving the encouragement, learning space for you to acquire the insight and skills you need. It may be short term, lasting two or three sessions, or it may involve regular meetings for a number of months, depending on the complexity of your situation and what you want from the work we do together.
When I work with you as your counsellor, I will provide you with a confidential and safe space to talk about your problem or issue without judgement. I am an accredited therapist with several years experience in mental health settings, however I am also trained in EMDR, Gestalt therapy, Mindfulness, and Hypnosis.
Contact me when you feel you want to discuss your needs or aims. We can explore how working together can help you with the difficulties you face today.
I am also a qualified counselling supervisor and can offer integrative/humanistic counselling supervision. I can also offer systemic and learning cycle approaches to supervision for professionals from other disciplines and fields of work. Please call me to discuss how I can support your well-being at work whilst enhancing your reflection and development in your ethical and professional practice.
