About me

Hi, I am Paul and I would like to welcome and thank you for visiting my profile. I am a warm, open, kind & empathetic person who has a desire to listen and to support you to help you grow and move forward in your life.

I do appreciate that reaching out to speak to someone can feel quite daunting. Maybe you have lots of questions about what counselling is or what it involves. Personally, I believe the most important part of counselling is finding a counsellor that you can connect with.

This relationship we build together is what counselling is all about. You are at the centre of this and we can build a safe space to explore your worries, concerns and feelings. This means that in the sessions you have the chance to talk openly and freely in a non-judgemental atmosphere where you feel valued and accepted. I aim to support you through the life challenges you are facing now, through helping you gain an understanding and awareness of these issues.

I am a Level 5 qualified counsellor based in Glossop but am currently offering online and telephone sessions. I offer person centred therapy, but I also have training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Play Therapy and Life Coaching. I have experience working with a wide range of clients including children, young adults and adults with many different issues.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I follow their ethical framework, this ensures that I am working ethically and professionally.   I also attend supervision and complete regular training and reading to ensure I am working am able to offer a high standard of support.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
