Hi, I am Paul and I would like to welcome and thank you for visiting my profile.

I do appreciate that reaching out to speak to someone can feel quite daunting. Maybe you have lots of questions about what counselling is or what it involves. To help support you with your decision. I offer a free 30 minute consultation to explore your hopes for counselling and answer any questions you may have.

I am a warm, open, kind & empathetic person who has a desire to listen and to support you to help you grow and move forward in your life.

I offer sessions online, via telephone or face-to-face.  In the sessions you have the chance to talk openly and freely in a non-judgemental atmosphere where you will feel valued and accepted. I aim to support you through the life challenges you are facing now, through helping you gain an understanding and awareness of these issues.

I am a Level 5 qualified counsellor based in Glossop but am currently offering online and telephone sessions. I offer Person Centred Therapy, but I also have training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Play Therapy and Life Coaching. I have experience working with a wide range of clients including children, young adults and adults with many different issues.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I follow their ethical framework, this ensures that I am working ethically and professionally.   I also attend supervision and complete regular training and reading to ensure I am working am able to offer a high standard of support.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Additional information

I offer a free 30 minute initial consultation.  In this session we can discuss what you are looking for from counselling and what the process will involve.  Here you also get the chance to speak with me to see if you feel comfortable working together.

If you wish to work together the sessions will be 50 minutes in duration and will cost £35 per session for face-to-face or £30 for online or telephone counselling. This can be agreed on a session by session basis or you can book a block of sessions.

All sessions are payable by bank transfer and must be paid at least 2 hours prior to the start of the session.

Cancellation Policy

24 hours is required for cancellation of a session, otherwise the full fee is incurred.

I also offer walk and talk therapy in Glossop. These session last 50 minutes and we can agree on a location for the walk and talk.
