About me

I have over a decade of experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist, I am dedicated to creating a safe, non-judgmental, compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and patterns of behaviour.  I’m described as being a warm and grounded therapist.

In my practice I’ve worked with a diverse range of clients seeking support for issues including, but not limited to: depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, relationship problems, substance misuse, emotional abuse, low self-esteem, sexuality, confidence and aspirations.

I believe in a client-centred approach, recognising that each individual is an expert on their own experience. My role is to facilitate self-discovery, growth, and healing. My foundation as a person-centred therapist, combined with my own therapeutic journey, has deepened my understanding of the transformative power of counselling.

I offer a warm and welcoming environment for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations. I use a range of therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and solution-focused therapy. I am trained to incorporate somatic healing techniques, bringing felt sensations or bodily held emotions into the therapeutic relationship, enabling you to experience greater awareness and connection with your body.

With your deeper awareness comes the ability to choose and a newfound freedom and authenticity that can be hampered by previous narratives and protective survival mechanisms.

Empowering you to become more self-aware, develop coping skills, and identify your strengths and values is at the core of my practice. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and I work diligently with you to develop personalised treatment plans that align with your unique needs and goals. My extensive one-on-one experience with clients from diverse backgrounds equips me to meet a wide range of needs, always striving to understand your world in a non-judgmental manner.

I am a proud member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical standards. I am passionate about continuous learning, personal development, and I feel privileged to be able to support a wide range of people on their journeys toward healing, growth and achieving their true potential.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
