Paul Allenby - 20 Years Experience in private Practice
Paul has gained an immense wealth of experience as a therapist and has a friendly, relaxed and non-judgemental approach to help people make positive changes in their lives.
Paul has developed a unique style of CBT counselling with mindfulness approaches that helps his clients create changes that are not only achievable but more importantly sustainable. Paul's friendly and relaxed therapeutic approach is effective helping people manage problems associated with stress, anxiety, fears, panic attacks, depression, OCD, low confidence, low self esteem and anger management.
If you decide to attend for CBT counselling with Paul you will experience an empathic approach, where you feel understood. You will receive therapy that is non-judgemental as you learn to make better sense of where you are but most importantly create a path where you want to be.
Paul's direct approach to therapy is empowering because it gives you the opportunity to break the problems you experience in to smaller and manageable bits to create change in achievable steps.
WORKING TOGETHER TO CREATE ACHIEVABLE AND SUSTAINABLE CHANGE
Our CBT counselling sessions are not just talking sessions. They are proactive in helping you work through, and get a better understanding of the difficulties you experience. At the same time our CBT counselling sessions will help you develop effective skills to take back control and create achievable and sustainable change.
The sessions are forward focused in their approach. This means that we aim to help you create positive and lasting change without needlessly dwelling on your past. Although your past is important we want to help you work on living your life in the present and creating a more positive mindset, attitudes and responses.
Paul believes that if we focus our CBT counselling sessions on the positive changes you wish to make, (rather than dwelling on the past), you give yourself a great opportunity to make the changes your desire a reality.

Counselling that doesn't dwell on your past
Having been offering counselling for nearly 20 years, we are only too aware how people's past affects their feelings and behaviour in the present.
Although an understanding of your past is important for our work to be effective, we are primarily intent in helping people manage their problems which arise in the present.
Our counselling sessions work on developing solutions to make the present and future better without needlessly dwelling on the past.
If you are feeling stuck and want to talk about developing solutions to difficulties you experience, our combination of counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy and mindfulness can make a big difference to your life and how you live it.
