Patricia Tuckwell MBACP (Reg.)
I am an Integrative Counsellor currently working within Healthcare charity organisations and in Private Practice, providing much needed counselling support to people with long term health conditions, their carers and people who are bereaved or have experienced loss, depression or anxiety. I provide a confidential, caring, warm and non-judgemental space for my clients, where they can explore their difficult feelings, worries and issues openly.
As an Integrative Counsellor I am trained to work with different therapeutic approaches including:
Person - Centered, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
My Integrative approach enables me to tailor the therapy to each individual, developing ways to work with a client’s unique needs rather than providing a generic ‘one size fits all’ approach. My approach is used to address difficult feelings, unhelpful negative behaviour patterns to enable the client to develop self awareness and a healthy self acceptance thus finding alternative ways and empowerment to move forward with their lives. I am an ethical and intuitive counsellor with deep compassion for others, and believe all clients have the capacity for growth and change given the right conditions.
My counselling service can offer Long term, Short term (up to 12 weeks) and Time limited (up to 8 weeks) therapy on a weekly basis.
Training, qualifications & experience
- Professional Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I have over 3000 Therapeutic Clinical hours.
- Registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy MBACP (Reg.)
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
