About me

Hello, my name is Patricia Moh and I am a qualified and experienced Counselling Psychotherapist registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)

I offer individual therapy/counselling which can be time limited and solution focused or long term/open ended. I am trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Counselling. However I am able to integrate these two models of therapy to suit my client’s needs.

What to Expect from our first session

When you contact me we will have a brief conversation to arrange a date and time for your initial assessment. The initial assessment will last an hour and it is an opportunity for you to tell me a bit about yourself and why you have sought counselling/therapy. We can also discuss any questions or concerns you have about further sessions. If you feel comfortable and confident that we can work together we will then agree a time and day in the week for further sessions.

How can counselling help?

Counselling/Therapy can help you get better self-awareness and a deeper understanding of yourself and others. It can also help improve your self-esteem which is in turn reflected in your personal relationships and you begin to feel better about yourself and who you are.

If you are experiencing repetitive negative patterns in your relationships or suffer from depression, low mood, general anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) or social anxiety counselling/therapy can help you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Foundation Degree in Short-term Psychodynamic Counselling & Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - BACP Accredited - Birkbeck University.

I have worked with a wide range of clients who have presented with panic attacks, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), PTSD, phobias and general low mood. Other areas of experience include:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Loss and bereavement
  • Trauma, neglect, and abuse
  • Attachment and relationship issues
  • Low self-confidence/self-esteem
  • Phobias
  • Anger

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
